One of the best games of the last qualifying round was Ajax against Rapid Wien in Austria. The game finished 2-2 but was a cracking encounter from start to finish. Rapid had a man sent off with thirty to go and trailing 2-1 but the home side managed to draw level and were a little unlucky not to win it. Schwab will miss the second leg through suspension but Petos and Beric will be the key man for the Austrians who will go to the Amsterdam Arena looking to get a famous win that would get them to the next round. Rapid have a solid squad and have had a great pre season and have started the domestic league with two good wins, including an away victory against Salzburg. This is a side that are going places and a team that has lofty ambitions.
Ajax were lucky in the first leg havign taken a 2-0 lead they easily could have come away from Austria with a loss, Rapid were terrific in the second half and even with a man down they looked like the team most likely to win. Frank De Boer's side hve brought in some talent in the form of Arsenal attaker Sonogo and he should be a foil for Milik in the coming months. Milik and klaasen are the key men for Ajax right now and the latter netted twice in the first leg. Milik was terrific last season and the Polish striker has been excellent for his national team in the last year as well, he is attracting attention from top clubs around Europe and Ajax look to have produced another terrific youth player.
This one should be a cracking game between two exciting teams. I was on the overs in the first leg and I am sticking to it here, I see both sides going for it from the off here Rapid now they must score and actually probably will need to win the game to get through where as Ajax could sit on their away goals but more than likely will not settle for that as a goal from Rapid could leave Ajax out of the competition. The overs here is one of my favourite bets of the Tuesday night games and one I will be strongly on.
