A new Bundesliga season and Borussia Dortmund will be trying to banish their terrible 2014/15 season from their minds, they face a tough task straight away against Borussia Mochengladbach who were one of the stories of the Bundesliga last season and qualified for the Champions League outright. Mochengladbach sold top scorer Kruse to Wolfsburg but they have bought in Drmic from Leverkusen and Eden Hazard's younger brother has also signed permanently from Chelsea. Borussia Mochengladbach will be hoping to get their Bundesliga campaign off to a good start but this is about as tough a fixture they could have ended up with and it will be interesting to see how this game plays out.
Borussia Dortmund held onto their stars in the summer with Rues, Hummels, Aubeymeyang all staying and Borussia Dortmund will be looking to build on a solid end to last season after a terrible start to the year. Dortmund need European football and Champions League football in particular, they just about qualified for the Europa League and have now negotiated the qualifiers to get to the last qualifying round. With players of the calibre of Reus, Hummels, Aubeymeyang and Mikhatarian this is a side that will compete at the top of the Bundesliga as long as they stay focused on the job at hand. Tuchel has a talented squad in his hands and this will be an interesting season for Dortmund's new boss.
Huge game for both clubs in their first Bundesliga game of the season, obviously there are only three points on offer but I feel like these two will be battling for league position for the rest of the season and while I do give the edge to the home team I think this should be a really entertaining game and one that should have goals. I am taking the overs in this one as both teams look to have an edge offensively, the first saturday evening kickoff of the Bundesliga should be one worth tuning in for.
