On Wednesday night Scottish Champions Celtic will try to get a first leg lead against Swedish Champions Malmo when they meet in Celtic Park. Celtic have a terrific home record in the competition overall and they will relish the opportunity to get a lead in the first leg before they have to travel to Sweden. Celtic have had an up and down start to the season but have looked impressive at times with Ronnie Delia's side having found some talent in midfielder Biton and center halves Boyata and wing back Janko. Celtic are a formidable side in Celtic Park where they have had some famour results over the years and where they are always very difficult to beat, playing in front of a Celtic crowd is like playing against twelve men and Malmo will have to negotiate that tricky scenario on Wednesday night.
Malmo do though have an advantage on Celtic in that their season is already twenty games in and while they are struggling at the moment domestically sitting fifth they are sure to have more match sharpness than a Celtic team only three games into their Scottish PL defence. Malmo will look to the experience of Rosenberg up top and the youth and energy of the likes of Eikrim, Berget to try to turn over the Scottish giants. Malmo will be looking to get some sort of result to bring back to Sweden but they will have the knowledge that they lost the first leg 2-0 to Salzburg before overcoming the Austrians 3-0 at home so even a loss is not the end of the world for the Swedes.
I think this is a really tough game to call and given that there is so much at stake I think both teams are going to be very nervous and maybe play a containing game rather than free flowing football. Looking at the market though something that stands out for me is the corners market , I think the way Celtic play they will create chances down the flanks and I am going to take the overs on the corner market. Over 6.5 corners for the home team is the way I am going and while I like Celtic to win the game the 7/10 about them is just a little short for me in what should be a really tight encounter
