One of the games of the weekend in the Barclay's Premier League will see Newcastle United host Arsenal in the early kick off on Saturday morning. The magpies come into this game off the back of a couple of confidence boosters as they went to Old Trafford and managed a point against Manchester United and followed that up with a 4-1 win in the league cup. Newcastle played a good defensive game against Manchester United and Steve McLaren will have to have been happy with how things went for the Magpies at Old Trafford. On Saturday morning though Newcastle will have a packed home crowd who are one of the best set of supporters in the league and the place will be hoping to see another great performance against one fo the leagues big boys Arsenal.
The Gunners come into this game after struggling against Liverpool on Monday night football. Arsene Wenger's side really need to get their act together as they currently sit three points behind fourth placed Manchester United and five points behind early leaders Manchester United. What is more worrying for Arsenal though is that they have only scored one goal in three games and their front five have struggled to finish chances. Giroud and Sanchez while working hard have not taken their chances and Cazorla, Ozil and Ramsay have been creating chances that have been going to waste. This is one of the best Arsenal squad's I've seen and the summer addition of Petr Cech has been terrific at times especialy against Liverpool on Monday night.
This one is tough to call, Arsenal are the better team and there is not even a slight doubt about that but Newcastle look solid at the moment and I think Newcastle look capable of scoring against most teams. They had good chances against Manchester United even though they spent most of the game on the back foot and I think that Newcastle will cause problems for Arsenal. Going to take both teams to score here in what should be an entertaining game between two good teams.
