The Premier League weekend kicks off with a cracker from White Hart Lane where Tottenham Hotspur host Manchester City with both teams looking for a win. Manchester City will be looking to bounce back from a shock loss to West Ham last weekend, Manuel Pelligrini welcomed back the brilliant Sergio Aguero who was missing for the Juventus loss last weekend but the Argentine international just couldnt get in going in the game against the hammers. Big summer signings Raheem Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne both scored midweek against Sunderland in the Carling Cup and will be looking to use their creativity and pace to get at Tottenham's full backs. Over the last four games against Tottenham the Citizens have scored sixteen goals and conceded just two, the two teams have in previous years played out some cracking games and I think that on Saturday morning we could be in for a treat.
Tottenham struggled at the start of the season but have now put three win's together and are playing really well. At the weekend Spurs were excellent against Crystal Palace , dominating possession but the out of form Harry Kane is struggling from a lack of confidence and hasnt found the net yet this season. Son was signed in the off season and has settled well scoring three in the last two games and the former Bayer Leverkusen striker looks a steal at the moment. Pochettino installed a tremendous work ethic in Southampton before he left for Spurs and that mentality is evident in this current Spurs squad. Last weekend the wingers were providing tremendous cover for the full backs the entire game and the central midfield never stopped running. With Lamela, Erikson and Kane all buying into the philosophy this is a side that are going to be hard to break down and who will work for each other. Tottenham fans will be hoping this new work ethic will provide for some joy against a Manchester City team that have dominated them in recent seasons.
I am going to buy into Tottenham manager Pochettino's philosopy, I think Spurs can get something here especially at home and I am taking Tottenham +1 as a max bet on Saturday morning to get our weekend off to a flying start. With Vincent Kompany and David Silva doubts for Manchester City it would not surprise me if Tottenham pulled off a surprise win here.
