Tottenham vs Anderlecht 11/5/2015: Europa League Preview and Predictions
5 November 2015/1505ET
This week the Europa League sees action from White Hart Lane in North London where Spurs take on Belgian side Anderlecht. This game may not be the marquee game for the week but a lot rests on the result as the both teams are tied on 4 points behind Monaco and the winner will take a big step into progressing to the next stage of the competition.
The previous time these two teams met in Belgium a few weeks ago, Tottenham ended up on the losing side of the score card which read 2-1. The Spurs will want to turn this around and they should be confident they will do so. This is a team which stand 5th on the Premier League table and they are tipped by many to make the Champions League next season. The team is coming together well with players who are you and working together. I like how Spurs look and with a hard work ethic (which has been happening lately) they are well set for this encounter.
Anderlecht has also been in fine form this season, playing well in the domestic competition on a consistent basis. This team is well balanced but it does lack some of the star power which the Spurs have on their side. Anderlecht will go into this encounter with a spring in their step since they beat Tottenham at home not long ago.
All being said, I don’t think Anderlecht has what it takes to beat Spurs at White Hart Lane. The Tottenham fans create an amazing atmosphere which makes it daunting for most sides and I think that along with the sheer fact that Spurs have a better side with decide the result. We are getting pretty good odds on Spurs to outright so I think that might be a good option to put your money on. In addition to that, I like both teams to score. Tottenham have been winning lately but they also been giving away 1 or 2 goals a game so I see value in that bet as well.
