The Italian Serie A is now back in full flow and the table is starting to take real shape now. This week we see AC Milan back in action at home as they take on Atalanta. Both teams are within two points of each other on the league standing and will want to win the vital 3 points considering how close the standings are.
Looking at the away team, Atalanta have been solid. This team has a good balance and is performing at a level that is expected of them. This team has been a little inconsistent but they have managed three points on a number of occasions. The problem that will concern the management will be their lack of wins on the road. This will be an area that they will want to improve in order to take the team to the next level where they can be considering competing for a spot in Europe. As for now it is important for Atlanta to stay in the top half of the table and getting a result at the San Siro this weekend will play a major role in doing so.
AC Milan come into this game full of confidence and the team is finally starting to come together. This team is coming of three straight wins and after their 3-1 victory away from home against Lazio last weekend, they will believe that a return to European football is not far away. The real improvement for Milan has come in the form of creating chances. The attacking midfielders are really starting to click and they are giving Carlos Bacca a chance in front of goal, which he usually takes. The Colombian has been in fine form and he will want to continue it in the games to come. In addition, the defense is also looking a lot better as they have been conceding a lot less than earlier in the season.
Overall, I see this game only going one way and that is in the direction of the home side. AC Milan have been in great form and I think that they will continue with that. Betting outright on Milan to win has no value so I think we should take them with a -1 goal handicap as I think they will easily overcome that. In addition to that, putting money on Carlos Bacca to score might also have value as he has been phenomenal lately.
