With two of next summers qualifiers going head to head in Warsaw Polish fans should be excited to see one of the Group winners Iceland, a team that beat the Netherlands twice in qualifying. With Swansea's midfielder Sigurdsson being the star man for the Icelanders they will look to take the game to Poland and will not be afraid of getting at them. Iceland are a solid team playing some excellent football during the qualifiers and unbeaten until a 90th minute goal against Turkey in Turkey denied them going the entire campaign unbeaten.
Poland saved their qualification until the last game where they needed to beat the Republic of Ireland to guarantee qualification and they duly obliged with Robert Lewandowski's goal late in the first half being enough to see off a tough challenge by the Irish. BAyern Munich striker Lewandowski is among the best in Europe and will bring his strong club form to the International stage on Friday night. Poland are a strong physical team and they play a nice brand of football but have occasionally been found wanting in midfield when matched by a similar intensity.
I expect Iceland to bring a good game to Warsaw and I think that the bookmakers are maybe over valuing Poland's chances here. I like Iceland on the handicap, they are a tough team to beat. Solid defensively and they wont make too many mistakes, Iceland also possess some quality attacking midfielders and Swansea's Sigurddson could yet again prove to be a match winner if the chance presents itself. Taking Iceland on the handicap here either way.
