One of the early kickoffs on Tuesday will see Croatia travel to Russia to take on a red hot Russian team. Russia have won five on the bounce with Zenit striker Dyzuba proving to be a spark for a previously stuttering attack. CSKA manager and Russia manager Slutsky changed things around on his appointment and comfortably negotiated the group and will be a threat next year at the Euro2016 Tournament. This is a talented Russian team with mainly home based players. Dzagoev, Dyzuba , Shirkov and Denisov will be key figures for Russia going forward and it will be interesting to see how Russia do against a Croatia team that was impressive in some of the qualifiers.
Croatia are missing their star man as luka Modric will miss out through injury, the Real Madrid man will be a loss but with a talented midfield the Croats should be able to cope with the loss. Barcelona's Rakitic will take the role as key playmaker and with Inter Milan's Perisic and Juventus striker Mandzukic will lead the line for Croatia. This is a good Croatia side but they could struggle here in Russia with the home team starting to produce some solid form and gearing up for the tournament and bound to want to improve on their last couple of tournament performances.
Russia havent lost a friendly international in over four years, the last time they succumbed to a friendly loss was in February 2011. I think Russia maintain that strong record in friendlies here as Croatia looked a little underwhelming last month against Malta. While I do think Russia will just sneak a win here I see little valie in it, instead I am going to take Russia to win 1-0 at 5/1. I think this represents value and as with all friendlies a min bet deserves a value play.
