Monday night football from Selhurst Park will see Crystal Palace take on a struggling Sunderland side. Crystal Palace come into this game with a good win over Liverpool their last game out, Palace under Alan Pardew are having a terrific season and win here for Palace could bring them up to sixth. With Bolasie, Puncheon, Zaha this is an attacking threat that has some real power and pace. Dwight Gayle plays the lead striker well and has shown over this season to have plenty of finishing talents, this team can definitely hurt opposition on the break but at home they will look to dictate the pace of play and press on a Sunderland team that have struggled all season defensively.
Sam Allardyce's biggest problem has been scoring goals offensively and with Defo and Fletcher scoring just seven between them in twenty three games we can see that Allardyce needs more goals from both of his strikers but also from the rest of the support cast. Adam Johnson hasa solitary goal and MVila after his big money summer move has also ony chipped in with one goal. Dick Advocaat quit because he felt like the board hadnt supported his needs in recruiting during the summer. Allardyce came in to try to turn things around but I'm sure he is looking at his squad now and wondering whether it was the right move.
Hard to see anything but a Crystal Palace win here but with two teams that have been very unpredicatable I am going to take the overs. I'm not 100% on whether Crystal Palace blow Sunderland away here as I think that the International break gave Allardyce time to set his team up and get some sort of unity and togetherness going. Sunderland have some talent in their line up with Rodwell, Johnson, Larsson and Defoe all game changers on their day. Taking the overs here though as I see Palace being able to win here but wont be surprised if Sunderland keep this close by getting on the scoresheet.
