The machine rolls on as Bayern Munich beat a tough Schalke team on Saturday evening and face into this game against Olympiakos with close to a full strength squad for the first time this season. A scary thought that this Bayern team have been missing players of the quality of Robben and Ribery but have still won all bar two of their competitive games this year. Pep Guardiola's side are exceptional, their strength in depth is ridiculous and with Thomas Muller and Robert Lewandowski up front they have two of the best strikers in Europe. The return of the brilliant Arjen Robben has brought with it a new threat for Bayern from the wings and from free kicks. Robben's ability to beat a man and set up a team mate is incredible and he can also score a goal. This Bayern team though are becoming unbackable as they currently are 1/9 to win this game and that is a ridiculous level of favouritism even if they are probably deserving of same.
Olympiakos have been the surprise package of the Champions League group stages so far, a win in the Emirates against Arsenal has left the greek side one point from qualification and while this is a tough ask here against what seems like an unbeatable team I dont expect the Greek side to roll over. In the first game between the two side Olympiakos played really well and in the first half had chances to take the lead before Bayern eventually got on top in the second half going on to win 3-0. I think Olympiakos are going to give it a go here though and defensively they have been very tough to break down for teams.
This one is very tough to find value in. After watching Bayern Munich destroy Arsenal though I think that Bayern -1 on the first half handicap is probably a very generous price at 17/10. Olympiakos are unlikely to come out and try to play and this may be tough to cover. But after watching Bayern of late especially at home at the Allianz Arena I dont think we can pass up the chance to get Bayern at 17/10 on this play.
