SImple here for Galatasaray they must win in Madrid in order to keep their chances of qualification alive. A draw with Atletico will simply not be enough for the Turkish side as they would lose on the head to head even if they beat Astana and Benfica beat Atletico in the last game week. This is a dangerous Galatasaray team though with Podolski, Bulut and Yilmaz up front they have quality attackers who can finish if given the opportunity. Wesley Sneijder will pull the strings in the midfield and while this will be a tough ask I think Galatasaray will give it a go here and while this is definitely a big ask I think they are being written off a bit too easily by the bookmakers.
Atletico though have come into some good form and are unbeaten in their last eight. With a solid defence Diego Simeone's side have moved themselves back up the league table and are now in second place just four points behind Barcelona and ahead of great rivals Real Madrid. Led by captain Diego Godin this is a solid squad but they have struggled for goals with Greizmann, Torres and Martinez failing to really light the scoreboard up. A strong defence has been the improvement for Atletico though in their recent unbeaten run as they have only conceded three goals in their last eight games.
While I appreciate that Atletico are a strong team and tough to beat I think they are being over valued here, Galatasaray were very good in Portugal against Benfica and I think that if they repeat that performance here they could get something from the game and maybe even get a win here. I'm taking Galatasaray +2 on the handicap as something big bet.
