Malmo will host Paris Saint Germaine on Wednesday and the game will see the return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic to the club where it all started for the Swedish superstar. Ibra has netted nine in nine since returning to PSG's line up and led Sweden through the playoff to the Euro's for next summer. PSG have a squad that want to compete for the Champions League title and they have spent big in the summer bringing in Manchester United winger Angel Di Maria. With Cavani, Lavezzi and Ibra to go alongside Matuidi and the aforementioned Di Maria this is a squad of superstars and Laurent Blanc's side have a real chance of going along way in this competiton. They may still be a little short of the Bayern Munich/Barcelona/Real level but not much short of it and they travel here to Sweden to ensure qualification. A win guarantees them a place in the knockout stage and if Real slip up against Shakhtar could even give PSG a chance to win the group.
Malmo know they are going to be up against it here but they played very well against Real and beat Shakhtar here. Can they upset the Parisians in what should tough weather conditions? Malmo will look to play on the counter and with Berget, Rosenberg and Dirdic they have players that could hurt PSG on the counter. This is a very tough task though and one that no doubt most Malmo players will actually be looking forward to. I think Malmo can keep this one tight for the first half and could even ruin Ibra's return by keeping the big man quiet over the 90 minutes.
There is no doubt of the difference in quality here. PSG are looking to win this competition while Malmo are looking to not get hammered at home. I think the underdogs will put in a huge performance here though and I am going to go with the draw at halftime as I see this one being a frustrating one for PSG. I think eventually the french side will put them away but not without being made to work very very hard.
