The game of the day in the Premier League will see Manchester United take on Chelsea at Old Trafford. With Jose Mourhino losing his job a couple of weeks ago , Louis Van Gaal is the next manager in the firing line and he is under severe pressure after Manchester United lost their fourth game in a row in all competitions. United were terrible on Saturday against Stoke City, Wayne Rooney was on the bench and people questioned Van Gaal, the reality is Wayne Rooney has not been playing well enough to deserve a start. When introduced at half time he was lethargic and far from impressive, his touch was off and again he did not score. United need leaders and Rooney as Captain needs to step up, shouting at players is one way of leading but leading y example is another. Rooney needs to start upping his performances and needs to start scoring goals.Martial, Depay and Mata struggled at the weekend but United should welcome back Bastian Schweinsteiger on Monday and I think Morgan Schneiderlein will also draw the start. My bet is United go with a 4-4-2 with Rooney and Martial up top and Herrera, Mata and Schneiderlein and Schweinsteriger. This is a must win game for United and they are lucky it's in Old Trafford but with Van Gaal under ever increasing pressure and Chelsea playing with a new found freedom this could be a tough game for United.
Chelsea have played much better in the last two weeks than they were playing under Jose Mourhino. Oscar has been exceptional in both games and was the best player on the pitch on Saturday against Watford. Diego Costa will miss this game through suspension and he will be a huge loss for the blues as he got himself two goals at the weekend and looked much sharper. Pedro, Fabregas and Willian will look to take advantage of any indecisiveness in Man Utd's midfield. Gus Hiddink will be looking to move Chelsea up the table and I think the Blues will look at this game as a winnable one considering how poor United have been.
I couldnt in good conscience take United to win this game, not with how poor they have been. Chelsea though have been just as poor in recent weeks so instead of taking aside I am going to take the draw, I see these two as canceling each other out here and a draw is the most likely outcome here.
