On Wednesday the second semi-final of the Capital One League Cup takes place with Manchester City traveling to Goodison Park to take on Everton. It's hard to gauge who will have the upper hand going into this game as both teams are in good form. Everton have lost just two of their last twelve in all competitions but funnily enough both have come at home in high scoring games within the last four weeks. Manchester City have lost just two of their last nine , both away from home in entertaining games at Stoke and Arsenal. Manchester City will probably not start Sergio Aguero here as the Argentine is only recently returned from a hamstring issue. Ya Ya Toure has upped his perfromance level in recent weeks and has scored important goals for the blues at crucial times over the years and seems to be finding that form again. With Toure, De Bruyne, Sterling and probably Bony this is a side capable of really hurting teams going forward. Seamus Coleman and Leighton Baines will have to be very careful with regards to the pace and power of the Manchester City attackers.
Everton though have their own powerful center forward in Lukaku who has been among the best in the league this season and Manchester City's back four have been far from infallible. Lukaku has been tremendous this season and has twelve goals in his last twelve appearances for the Toffees, with Deulofeu, Barkley and a resurrgent Aaron Lennon this is an Everton team that has the confidence to take on Manchester City. Roberto Martinez has yet to taste victory with Everton against Manchester City in five games agaisnt the Sky blues Everton have just one draw and four defeats. While Everton are moving in the right direction I think Everton fans would really love some sort of silverware and they will know that this competition represents a real chance for them. Expect the atmosphere at Goodison Park to be incredible.
I'm going to take Everton here to get the win. I think the oddsmakers have this one wrong. Everton have a team capable of hurting Manchester City and I'm not 100% that Manuel Pelligrini will put out his full team in this game, this is the fourth most important competition for City where it is probably the most important one for Everton and their fans. Take Everton to get a win here.
