Everton play host to Swansea City on Sunday morning in a game that could see Everton move into the top half of the league and start their push for European football. Everton have only lost two in their last fifteen games but have also drawn seven of those fifteen games and that is where the problem lies for the Toffees. Everton have the top scorer in the league in Lukaku who is having a fantastic season and has proven to be worth every penny of the almost thirty million that Everton paid for him. With Deulofeu and Barkley also having terrific seasons Everton are a team that have the players to build for the future. Roberto Martinez has put together a really good team who are going to be tough to beat for the foreseeable future. In addition Everton were robbed last weekend at Chelsea where the hosts equalising goal came two minutes over the added time and to add insult to injury John Terry was offside when he scored it.
Swansea City got a much needed win on Monday night football when they got a winner from Ashley Williams who had never scored for Swansea at home. Swansea come into this game a point above the relegation zone but with an opportunity to move four clear with a rare away win here. Ayew will be the key up front and Sigurddson will be the creative influence from midfield, Routledge and Ki were a consistant threat on Monday night and Alan Curtis will I think stick with the same team. Gomis who has been too inconsistant through out the season is a good option from the bench but Swansea must find a way to stop the inform Lukaku a job that is easier said than done.
This for me is a mismatch. Everton should in my opinion be higher up the table, the Toffee's have suffered some very bad luck throughout the season but they are coming good and I think that this game is a tough ask for Swansea. I have looked at the handicap and I'm not against taking Everton -1 but I think the first and most important thing here is that Everton get the win. I dont trust the Everton defence enough to take the -1 but they are value at 19/10. But my take is Everton to win outright and for me this is one of the bets of the weekend.
