One of the games in the Premier League where I feel there is some value is the visit of Stoke City to Bournemouth. There is no doubt that Bournemouth have had a good run of late and are having an impressive season sitting in fifteenth in the league and just five points from tomorrow's visitors. But last weekend Bournemouth struggled offensively, Afobe, Ritchie, Arter , Pugh were all guilty of misses but the team didnt create many one on ones. Stanislas was probably the best player Bournemouth had when he came on and his wing play did provide a couple of half chances. Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe was annoyed that Arsenal midfielder Flamini didnt get a straight red in the first half but the reality is his team wasnt good enough last weekend, they face a Stoke team that have lost four of their last five but are definitely a tough team to play against.
With Stoke's current run of form it's easy to see why the bookmakers have them at 3/1, four losses in their last five is not pretty reading for anyone but their one win came away from home to Liverpool. Stoke have a quality side with Bojan, Arnautovic, Shaqiri, Afellay and Walters all match winners on their day, also in Mark Hughes they have one of the tactically astute managers in the league. I think Stoke will go to Bournemouth looking to play on the counter and with the team set up they have I think they will be pretty successful at it. Stoke are definitely in the midst of a slump and while taking them outright to get the win is a bit of a risk I think taking Stoke +1 on the handicap looks a real value bet and possibly the bet of the weekend for me.
Going with Stoke +1 here as I see the Potters as a team that could easily go to Bournemouth and win. Stoke had a run of five wins in six away from home earlier in the season a 1-0 win for Stoke here would not surprise me at all but either way I dont think they lose this one.
