After beating great rivals Arsenal at the weekend Manchester United look to keep the momentum going when they face Watford in Old Trafford on Wednesday night. United may have a chance to go level with Manchester City if the red devils win here and if Manchester City lose at Anfield also on Wednesday night. Louis Van Gaal's hot seat seems to have cooled off as Manchester United, decimated by injury have produced their best football of the season. Memphis Depay is finally showing exactly why Manchester United spent so much money on him with two man of the match performances, while young Rashford may have got the plaudits for the win on Sunday with his two goals Memphis was brilliant start to finish and took the game to Arsenal at every opportunity. The Old Trafford crowd have warmed to him and he is producing fantastic football, with two games against Liverpool in the Europa League coming up the young dutchman could really put himself in the Manchester United fans hearts if he can continue this superb form.
Watford have lost only once in their last seven games and that was an away loss to high flying Tottenham. In the reverse fixture Watford were desperately unlucky to lose to a last minute Schweinsteiger goal after Troy Deeney had equalised from the Penalty spot. Ighalo and Deeney are one of the best partnerships in the league this season and Ighalo's pace will cause trouble for United's backfour especially if Michael Carrick is still center half beside Daley Blind. Watford will come to Old Trafford looking to take something from this game and will have no fear as this is a game they will not be expected to get anything from. Manager Sanchez Flores has done well this season and Watford have cemented their place in the league already, its a remarkable achievement for a side many fancied to go straight back down to the Championship.
At 3/5 and with so many injuries I personally think Manchester United are too short here, Watford have proven time and again this season to be very tough to beat and I am convinced that they can cause real problems for United's back four. I am going to take the overs in this one, we are still getting some value on the overs due to United's previous strong home form without conceding but that was with a fully fit backline, right now United are playing reserve wing backs and makeshift center halves. While the injuries have actually been beneficial for United going forward as the Memphis, Mata , Herrera axis has been phenomenal.
