The game of the week in terms of the Champions League, Parisian giants PSG who have all but wrapped up the Ligue 1 title take on Chelsea, last year's Premier League Champions who are currently languishing in mid table. Chelsea had a terrible season thus far, struggling to string performances together they eventually had to get rid of Jose Mourhino as the results just did not come for the Special one. Gus Hiddink took over and has only lost one game in charge, in Paris to PSG in a game that Chelsea were comfortable throughout only for Edison Cavani to come in off the bench and make the difference. PSG have a good team, full of highly paid mercenaries who have come to Paris for the money. PSG have quality in Di Maria, Cavani, Ibra, Matuidi and Veratti but at the back they are soft in teh center of their defence and their goalkeeper. Laurent Blanc's side also do not have enough competitive action in France and that could be the reason this team has had a soft underbelly in Europe.
Chelsea have come good under Gus Hiddink, the team is cohesive and playing as a unit. Hiddink took the opportunity to rest Diego Costa, Fabregas and others at the weekend . This game is pretty much make or break for Chelsea this year. The blues have some phenomenal players in HAzard, Oscar, Willian and the aformentioned Costa & Fabregas. But on Wednesday what they will need is leaders. Ivanovic and Terry have always been their spiritual heart and soul. Terry the club captain looks likely to miss out through injury but Ivanovic will lead the way from the back with Matic and Fabregas shoring up the middle. Willian has been Chelsea's best player all season and the brilliant Brazilian will be key here for the Blues, will Stamford Bridge have another miracle night in the Champions League?
I am taking Chelsea to win here. I believe PSG will falter, unlike most soccer writers I do not believe that Ibrahimovic is a big game player in fact most big games I've seen him play in Europe he has gone missing. This is a tough ask for Chelsea but at 17/10 there is just oo much value here to pass up. I am taking Chelsea to get the win.
