Monday's Transfer Rumours - Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Manchester United
Some rumours from around the globe for your Monday morning digest:
Ibrahimovic or Cavani to Manchester United
This one has some potential, Manchester United are long time admirers of both Cavani and Ibrahimovic and both have expressed their desire to leave Paris in the summer. While Ibrahimovic is out of contract and thought to be against a big money move to the Chinese Super League or MLS at the moment. The big Swede feels like he can still do a job for a top European side and he will still be paid a tonne if he moves to Old Trafford in the summer. Ibrahimovic has played in several of the top leagues across Europe but the Premier League is one of the two top leagues he hasnt played in the other being the Bundesliga. With Jose Mourhino possibly moving to Manchester United in the summer though that could be a fly in the ointment asMourhino and Ibrahimovic are reported to have had a frosty relationship while at Inter with Mourhino the one that orchestrated Ibra's departure to Barcelona. Lots of potential in this one though as United need a top player and Ibrahimovic would fit the bill.
Edison Cavani has apparently looked for a move several times since his transfer from Napoli in the summer of '13. Cavani cost PSG €64million though and there are doubts about whether anyone would be willing to pay close to that. Cavani's goals per game ratio has dropped significantly since moving to PSG, with Napoli Cavani scored 104 in 135 appearances and that is down to 74 in 138 games for PSG, partially because he is being played out of the center where Ibrahimovic currently plays. With Ibra likely to move on in the summer would Cavani really want to move when he is going to get the chance to be the main man in a top European side who will be winning league's and competing in the Champions League for years to come?
I doubt it very much. Ibrahimovic may well move to England in the summer but I see Cavani as staying put
De Gea to Madrid
This one simply wont go away. Real Madrid want Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea and although De Gea signed a new contract in the summer there is a £30million pound buy out clause inserted. De Gea has been the best goalkeeper in the world for the last two years and with Manchester United struggling in the league and in danger of missing out on the Champions League this one could be a possibility. With Sergio Romero already on the books, United actually have an able replacement. I think this one depends more on where United finish, if Manchester United make it to the Champions League I think David De Gea stays. If they dont then we could well see De Gea with the Galacticos of Real Madrid.
