With this tie all but over Manchester City are about to make history for the club has never been past the round of sixteen in the current Champions League format. A wonderful 3-1 win in Kyiv has left this Manchester City squad on the cusp of history. Sergio Aguero, Toure, Bony, Sterling will all look to finish the tie as a contest on Tuesday with an early goal for the home side surely enough to guarantee no heroics from the visiting Ukrainians. Manchester City put in another lacklustre Premier League performance at the weekend and are now nine points off the top with Leicester City set to play on Monday night which could extend their lead to twelve points. Just too big a gap with nine games to go for the Citizens. The announement that Pep Guardiola would take over the Manchester City managers job next season appears to have unsettled the side and City's season has pettered out along with a disasterous exit from the FA Cup where Pelligrini rested his starters in preference of the Champions League tie which followed that Wednesday. Sergio Aguero has been a sensation since moving from Atletico Madrid to Manchester City three years ago and he is still the key man in this Manchester City team with Sterling, Silva and Toure pulling the strings in midfield. Expect to see Manchester City go all out in the early minutes here.
Dynamo Kyiv have put together back to back league wins following their 3-1 first leg loss to Manchester City, and have moved three points clear of Shakhtar Donetsk in the race for the title in the Ukraine. With quality players throughout his squad Sergi Rebrov will not be afraid of going for the win here at the Ethiad. Yarmalenko is among the best attacking midfielders in Europe and the Ukrainian marksman will have City in his sights on Tuesday night. Husyev and Yarmalenko together can cause Manchester City some problems but I think overall there will be too much for Dynamo Kyiv to try to overcome here. Miguel Veloso will probably be the busiest man on the pitch as he tries to protect the Kyiv back four from Manchester City's midfield.
Tough game to call here as a tie it seems settled already with Manchester City leading 3-1 from the first leg. It's hard to know the mindset of City in this position but because the team has never been beyond this round I think they will want to make sure. For that reason I am going to take Manchester City -1 here in a game that should be played in front of a capacity crowd at the Ethiad.
