The New England Revolution and New York Red Bulls meet Friday night at Gillette Stadium.
The New England Revolution are still looking for their first victory after a frustrating 0-1-3 start to the season. The Revolution have held their own on the defensive end at this point but have put up just one goal in their last three matches. New England needs to find production on the offensive end in order to make up ground in the Eastern Conference. Daigo Kobayashi leads New England with one goal, Diego Fagundez has two assists and Lee Nguyen has nine assists. Defensively, Bobby Shuttleworth has come away with 13 saves on 21 shots faced. The New England Revolution have picked up points in seven of their last eight regular season home games.

The New York Red Bulls have had a lot of time off after not playing since March 19, and they could also use a win after a 1-2-0 start. New York has also been inconsistent on the offensive end after getting shutout in the first two matches. The Red Bulls did find the back of the net four times against Houston, so they can only hope to build off that effort. Felipe leads New York with two goals, Sacha Kljestan has one assist and Bradley Wright-Phillips has seven shots. Defensively, Luis Robles has come away with 10 saves on 18 shots faced. The New York Red Bulls have lost four of their last six regular season road games.
The Revolution are 3-1-1 against the Red Bulls in their last five matches. New York’s only win during that time came in July of last year. The last two matches between these teams has produced a combined eight goals.
At the end of the day, the New England Revolution could use a win here to break the ice to their season, and they’ve been very consistent when playing at home, picking up points in all but one of their last eight tries. The Red Bulls are likely going to struggle in this one.
