The Colorado Rapids and Toronto FC meet Saturday night at the Dick's Sporting Goods Park.
The Colorado Rapids have really struggled on the offensive end with just two goals in three matches, but they’ve earned points in their last two contests. The Rapids continue to rely heavily on their defense that’s allowed one or less goals in five of their last six matches. Still, you’d like to see a little more aggressiveness from Colorado on offense in order to get some victories. Dillon Powers leads Colorado with one goal, Marco Pappa has one assist and Dominique Badji has seven shots. Defensively, Zac MacMath has produced seven saves on 10 shots faced. The Colorado Rapids have come away with points in four of their last six regular season home games.

The Toronto FC play their fourth straight road game in what will be an eight-game road trip. Toronto hasn’t been good on the road dating back to last season and is just trying to tread water to start the season. The good news for Toronto FC is that it has two players with at least six shot attempts, and it’s a team that will remain aggressive on the offensive end. Sebastian Giovinco leads Toronto with two goals, Will Johnson has one assist and Marky Delgado has three shots. Defensively, Clint Irwin has come away with seven saves on 11 shots faced. The Toronto FC have lost five of their last seven regular season road games.
Toronto has beaten Colorado in three of the last five matches, including the most recent back in September. Two of the last three matches have included a shutout. Four of the last five meetings has produced three or less goals.
Toronto FC continues to struggle on the road, and this is a game the Rapids should be able to win. Look for Colorado to beat Toronto for the third time in four tries.
