The FC Dallas and San Jose Earthquakes square off Saturday night at Toyota Stadium.
FC Dallas is off to an impressive 3-1-1 start to the season and currently leads the Western Conference. FC Dallas has been able to get it done at both ends of the field, as it has three players with double-digit shots and has already pitched three shutouts. It’s still very early in the season, but FC Dallas may be the most impressive team out of the gate and can only hope it can build on this start. Maximiliano Urruti leads Dallas with three goals, Mauro Diaz has four assists and Fabian Castillo has 12 shots. Defensively, Chris Seitz has seven saves on eight shots faced. FC Dallas has picked up points in eight straight regular season home games.
USA TODAY Sports
The San Jose Earthquakes are off to a 2-1-1 start to the season as they’ve taken advantage of a heavy home schedule. The Earthquakes have allowed one or less goals in three of their four matches and have come away with points in eight of their last nine matches when allowing two or less goals. The Earthquakes would love nothing more than to gain more ground with a victory on the road. Offensively, Chris Wondolowski leads San Jose with three goals, Shea Salinas has one assist and Quincy Amarikwa has 10 shots. Defensively, David Bingham has 11 saves on 17 shots faced. The San Jose Earthquakes have lost their last three regular season road games.
FC Dallas has won three of the last four meetings against the Earthquakes and is 3-0-1 overall during that span. The Earthquakes last victory over FC Dallas came in May of 2014. Two of the last three meetings between these teams has produced one or less goals.
Not sure how you bet against FC Dallas, especially at home, considering this is the best team in the MLS at this very moment. Dallas is rolling right now and has been solid at home for quite some time.
Give me the home team for the victory.
