The New England Revolution and Toronto FC meet Saturday afternoon at Gillette Stadium.
The New England Revolution could be off to a better start, but they’ve picked up points in four of their first five matches. The Revolution have had a hard time finding the back of the net, as they’ve scored one or less goals in four straight matches. New England has four players with at least three shots on goal, but it hasn’t helped. The Revolution could use all three points in this match. Diego Fagundez leads New England with two goals, Juan Agudelo has one assist and Lee Nguyen has 11 shots. Defensively, Bobby Shuttleworth has come away with 18 saves on 26 shots faced. The New England Revolution have picked up points in eight of their last nine regular season home games.

The Toronto FC continue their insane road trip, as they don’t play their season home opener until May 7 against FC Dallas. Toronto has been shutout in its last two matches and would love to get something positive out of this match. Toronto’s defense has been pretty solid out of the gate, but the offense has been nothing short of a one-man show with Giovinco leading the way. Sebastian Giovinco leads Toronto with two goals, Will Johnson has one assist and Marky Delgado has three shots. Defensively, Clint Irwin has come away with 14 saves on 19 shots faced. The Toronto FC have lost seven of their last nine regular season road games.
New England has dominated Toronto with four wins in the last five matches between them. Toronto FC has not beaten the Revolution at home since 2010. The last two matches between these two teams have combined for eight goals.
Being on the road constantly has to be taking its toll on Toronto, and New England is very, very good playing on its home field. I expect the Revolution to get a much needed win here.
