The Houston Dynamo and Seattle Sounders meet Sunday afternoon at BBVA Compass Stadium.
The Houston Dynamo look to get back on track after dropping their last two matches. The Dynamo have been an offensive force, scoring at least three goals in three of their four matches, and they have three players with at least seven shots. The downside with the Dynamo has been their defense that’s allowed goals left and right, and 29 shots on goal. Will Bruin leads Houston with three goals, Boniek García has two assists and Andrew Wenger has 11 shots. Defensively, Joe Willis has come away with 21 saves on 29 shots faced. The Houston Dynamo have earned points in five straight regular season home games.

The Seattle Sounders would love to get points in this match after they’re off to a brutal 1-3 start to the season. The struggles with the Sounders start on the offensive end, as they have just three goals in four matches and just two players with more than four shots. It may just be a matter of time before the Sounders turn things around, but they can’t be pleased with their current form. Osvaldo Alonso leads Seattle with one goal, Andreas Ivanschitz has one assist and Clint Dempsey has 16 shots. The Seattle Sounders have come away with points in four of their last five regular season road games.
Seattle has picked up points in four of its last five matches against Houston, including a 1-1 draw back in October. The Dynamo’s only victory over the Sounders during that time was in August of 2013. However, the Dynamo have never lost to the Sounders in Houston.
Until the Sounders turn things around, it’s hard to back them. Add in the fact the Dynamo have never lost to Seattle in Houston, I’ll side with the home team here.
