The Chicago Fire and Montreal Impact meet Saturday afternoon at the Toyota Park.
The Chicago Fire could use a nice victory after a tough 1-1-3 start to the season. The Fire have been carried by their defense that’s allowed an average of one goal per game and has allowed zero goals in their last three games overall. The Chicago Fire just need to figure things out offensively in order to take that next step, which shouldn’t be difficult considering they have three guys with at least nine shots. David Accam leads Chicago with two goals, John Goossens has one assist and Gilberto has 11 shots. Defensively, Matt Lampson has come away with 26 saves on 31 shots faced. The Chicago Fire have lost four of their last eight regular season home games.

The Montreal Impact look to build their lead in the East after a solid 3-2 start to the season. The Impact are led by an offense that’s produced eight goals in five matches and two goals in their last match. The Montreal Impact have two players with double-digit shot attempts, so the aggressive offense is certainly paying off early for the team from Canada. Ignacio Piattil leads Montreal with three goals, Harry Shipp has two assists and Lucas Ontivero has 14 shots. Defensively, Evan Bush has come away with 18 saves on 24 shots faced. The Montreal Impact have lost three of their last four regular season road games.
Montreal has beaten Chicago in three of the last five meetings and is 3-1-1 during that span overall. The Fire’s only victory over the Impact during that span was in May of last year. The last two meetings between these two clubs combined for a total of 10 goals.
The Fire have not been able to finish games this season, and they’ve struggled overall against the Impact. Based on the value, I like the road team stealing a victory here.
