The Line: Jamaica +205 / Venezuela +160 -- Over/Under: 2 See the Latest Odds
Venezuela and Jamaica square off in Copa America early Sunday afternoon at Soldier Field.
Venezuela is capable of surprising folks as we saw in the Copa America back in 2011 when they finished fourth. But expectations aren’t nearly as high for the team that currently sits last in the 2018 World Cup qualifying. Venezuela has to find more of a scoring punch besides Salomon Rondon, as the team really struggles on the attack and that's likely going to be the case again with Juan Arango no longer on the team. The good news is that Venezuela has a more experienced Tomas Rinconthis time around after he simply shined during the team's magical run a few years ago. Venezuela will have to play disciplined soccer and step up on the defensive end in order to compete, as the overall offensive firepower isn’t there.

Jamaica will participate in Copa America for just the second time and enters as a serious sleeper to make a tournament run. Jamaica enters with a ton of confidence after winning the 2014 Caribbean Cup and finishing runner-up in the Gold Cup. With a reliable goalie in Andre Blake and an underrated defender in Wes Morgan, Jamaica has an impressive defense that covers a lot of ground and makes opposing teams work hard for everything they get. Rodolph Austin leads Jamaica with seven international goals while Giles Barnes has the potential to have a breakout tournament with him in his current form in the MLS. Jamaica lacks a lot of offensive firepower but is very athletic and plays very hard on the defensive end. There’s also a lot of MLS players on this roster, so the US crowd could get behind them.
Neither of these clubs are great offensively and rely heavily on the defensive side in hopes of coming away with points. Jamaica is the better team overall and a club I could see shocking people. But in terms of picking this match, I like the under in what could be a game where the first and only team to score wins.
Give me the under.
