Chile and Argentina square off Monday night in the Copa America at Levi's Stadium.
Chile enters Copa America as the defending champions and hopes to be the first team to win back to back titles since Brazil a few years ago. Chile certainly has the firepower to get the job done with Alexis Sanchez and Eduardo Vargas leading the charge, two young players who have produced 56 combined national goals. Add Arturo Vidal into the mix, and Chile has proven to be one of the better attacking teams that can light up the scoreboard in a hurry. In order to make another run in this tournament, Chile has to be tight on the defensive side and need Claudio Bravo to come up big like he has in the past. Chile enters as a very confident team and won’t be easily intimidated starting things off against the favorites.

Argentina enters most tournaments as the favorite and 2016 Copa America is no different. Argentina has finished runner-up in three of the last four Copa Americas and hope this is the year they can finally walk away with the first recent major championship. From top to bottom, Argentina is absolutely loaded with talent starting with the best player in the world in Lionel Messi who puts fear in opposing teams. Add Javier Mascherano, Sergio Aguero and Gonzalo Higuaín, and they help give Argentina the deepest and most talented team in the tournament. We’ve said this before, but it’s just about Argentina finally getting over that hump and fulfilling expectations, something that’s been difficult as of late. Argentina should be very hungry for a major championship.
It’s no secret that both of these clubs are extremely talented and capable of making a deep run. But Argentina is the favorite for a reason and knows it needs to get off to a fast start in order to not only win this group but to position itself for a championship run. It’s hard to bet against Argentina and all this talent.
I’m siding with Argentina and the cheap price to get the victory.
