Haiti and Brazil clash Wednesday night in the 2016 Copa America at the Orlando Citrus Bowl.
Haiti needs a bounce back performance after losing 1-0 to Peru in its opening match. Haiti really struggled on the offensive end with only five shots total and one of those shots on target, as it controlled the ball for just 48.7 percent of the match. Duckens Nazon was the only person who had a shot at scoring, but the star of the match overall was goalie Johnny Placide, who came away with four saves. Not match was expected from Haiti in this tournament, especially being a top heavy group, but it was a decent performance overall and there was a chance for a draw before allowing a goal late in the second half. Haiti will have to bring the same energy on the defensive side if it hopes to pull off the big upset in this match.

Brazil looks for another decent effort after settling for a 0-0 draw against Ecuador. Brazil can’t be pleased with the result after controlling the ball for nearly 70 percent of the match and getting nine shot attempts off. However, some would say that Ecuador was robbed after a good goal was ruled that the ball had gone out of bounds before kicked. In that case, Brazil will take the draw and hope to regroup and come away with a victory here. Gil and Philippe Coutinho were the two Brazil players to have shots on goal, and goalie Alisson Becker only needs one save. Even without Neymar on the field, Brazil has too much talent to not find the back of the net when controlling the ball for majority of the match. Brazil has to play better here if it hopes to make a tournament run.
Brazil is not only by far the more talented team in this match, but it also needs the victory to kind of secure its spot in advancing. If Brazil plays to its potential, there’s nothing Hatai can do to counter on either side of the field. There’s too much depth and experience for Brazil to win this match rather easily.
However, Hatai should play with a lot of passion and at least fight like it did in its last match. I’ll take a stab at the spread given that you can’t back -550 odds.
