France looks to play their way to the top of Group A in their second match of the tournament as they take on winless Albania on Wednesday.
France will look for a more comfortable result in their second match in the Euro 2016 tournament after escaping with a 2-1 final on the foot of Dmitri Payet who scored a screamer in the 89th minute to send the home side into a frenzy and now they will be more comfortable after getting three points in game one. France was all over the pitch in the attacking third and looked every bit as good as the pre-tournament hype provided but they weren’t able to capitalize and finish the chances they were given but against an Albanian side that isn’t too overbearing in the defensive third I think France will have a much easier time converting here than they did against Romania. Paul Pogba and Payet were exceptional in the tournament opener and with the likes of Antoine Griezmann, Olivier Giroud, and Blaise Matuidi at their disposal I think France will be ready to put on a show today.
Albania meanwhile had a terrible tournament opener and while they were within one missed opportunity from earning a single point they were never really a threat to Switzerland on Saturday. Albania went down a man after a red card and with that parlayed into a 1-0 deficit they faced after conceding an early goal it was a game full of catch up for the Albanians who really needed to earn at least a single against Switzerland to have a shot at getting out of the group stage. They are in a world of trouble here as they take on the hosts who are ready to explode offensively after a frustrating start to the tournament against Romania and with so much talent on the French side I think Albania will be out of this one at half time.
