England and Slovakia look to book their ticket to the knockout stage as the two Group B nations meet up in France on Monday afternoon.
England head into their final group stage game coming off a come from behind, 2-1 win over Wales and are now in the driver’s seat to emerge as group winners and get into the knockout stage if they can earn at least a point against Slovakia today. The Three Lions haven’t been great in either of their two matches but certainly stepped up when it mattered most against Wales and eliminated a great free kick opener from Gareth Bale as a goal in the 90th minute gave them the full three against their UK rivals. England will likely make some adjustments here to match up with a Slovak side that is coming off a big time win against Russia and will be out to seek the full three if they want to finish atop the group and set up a more favourable matchup in the knockout stage.

Slovakia meanwhile answered the call after a disappointing loss to Wales to start the tournament and took down one of their arch rivals from Russia in game two as they are now in decent shape to get through to the next round, even it means as a wild card team. The Slovaks don’t have a ton of options up top but they should be able to do enough to keep the English attack in check and with some changes to the English at the back it could leave them susceptible to miscommunication and allow for a break down or two offensively for Slovakia. This is going to be an exciting game and the line doesn’t indicate how close these two teams are and while England should get it done I am banking on Slovakia to leave it all on the table and at least salvage the single point here.
