The Welsh look to shake off a last minute loss to England in their last outing as they aim for their second victory on Monday against Russia.
Wales head into Monday’s encounter with Russia looking to book their ticket to the knockout stage and perhaps claim top spot in the group with a full three points against a Russian side that is likely heading home after today’s game if they can’t earn a win. Wales is riding the play of Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey in this tournament and they have both been excellent with the former netting two free kick goals in as many games and will be out for another against Russia who looked dilapidated against Slovakia. Wales are sitting on three points and trail England a single for top spot in the group and if they can earn a win here and England stumbles than it will be Wales emerging as group champions and perhaps relegating England to third.
Russia meanwhile were lucky to earn a single point against England in their first game and now they are coming off a 2-1 loss in an effort where they probably didn’t even deserve the lone goal as Slovakia dominated. The Russians came into this tournament without two of their top players and expectations weren’t high, and while they can still get out of the group with a win today and some help in the England-Slovakia game but Wales have much more at stake and will be ready to rebound after their last outing. The odds on this game are very enticing as Wales to me are the better team and we are getting them at a very nice price and in the end I do think Wales emerge victorious with a 2-0 final.
