Germany look to get back on the score sheet and net a few goals against Northern Ireland as the two sides face off on Monday in their final group stage fixture.
Germany head into Tuesday’s encounter with Northern Ireland looking to make a statement and lay claim to top spot in their group after failing to earn three points against their arch rivals from Poland. The Germans are 1-1-0 heading into this one after an tournament opening win against Ukraine by a 2-0 final and a scoreless draw against Poland and if they want to fnish atop the group they know they have to do some damage against Northern Ireland or hope that Poland falters against Ukraine. With so much fire power across the board you can be sure that much like France, the Germans will be out to make a statement that they are the team to beat in this tournament.

Northern Ireland meanwhile is coming off an impressive win over Ukraine and will be looking to build on that momentum against Germany in what could be a great chance for them to emerge out of the group. However, they know they have their work cut out for them as Germany will be looking to fill the back of the net and avoid any tiebreaker situations with Poland thanks to a better goal differential. This should force Northern Ireland into playing a very stagnant, defensive style of game as they would be thrilled by grabbing a single point here and perhaps emerging out of the group as a wild card spot. This should be a pretty contest between two teams who’s spot in the next round is very much up in the air and if Germany can’t get the win they run the risk of falling into the wild card bracket. In the end, I like Germany to do more than enough to get the three points here and leave Northern Ireland’s chances very much in doubt
