Colombia and Chile square off late Wednesday night in the Copa America semifinals at Soldier Field.
Colombia is coming off a victory over Peru that came down to penalty kicks after a 0-0 draw. Despite the scoreless play in regulation, Colombia controlled much of the match with nine shot attempts to just four, and James Rodriguez had a chance to score early in the first half. Either way, Colombia will take the result and has now allowed one or less goals in five of its last six matches. Colombia has been a scoring machine throughout the tournament and with the defense also stepping up, this is a team that can taste a shot at the title. Colombia hopes to make the Copa America final for the first time since 2001 when it won the tournament.

Chile is coming off a ridiculous 7-0 victory over Mexico in the quarterfinals. Chile got 11 of its 21 shot attempts on target and scored five second half goals. It seemed like everybody got in on the fun, but Eduardo Vargas led the way with four goals and six shots while Edson Puch had two goals and five shots. It was Chile's biggest win in Copa America since its victory over Venezuela back in 1979. Chile has now scored 11 goals in its last two matches and is now a red hot team that nobody wants to play. Chile has now won nine straight matches when scoring at least two goals. Chile hopes to make the Copa America final once again with a chance to win back-to-back titles.
Besides Argentina, there’s no team hotter right now than Chile, who just dismantled a very good Mexico club. However, Colombia has been very consistent in its own right and has the best player in this match in Rodriguez. Also, Chilie will be without Arturo Vidal, a big piece to its defense in the middle of the field.
This should be a hell of a match, but I see Colombia doing just enough to get the victory.
