The 2013 United States Open arrives Monday to begin the final fortnight of the four Grand Slams in the tennis calendar year. Serb (1) Novak Djokovic won the first Slam the Australian Open, Spaniard (2) Rafael Nadal the second Slam the French Open and Scot (3) Andy Murray the third Slam Wimbledon so the only question left is who will take home the fourth?

With Argentine (6) Juan Martin del Potro in Djokovic's section, Czech (5) Tomas Berdych in Murray's, and Swiss (7) Roger Federer in Nadal's Spaniard (4) David Ferrer may have the draw to make the most noise in New York.

Tyrone's Men's U.S. Open Draw of Death: While (2) Rafa and (7) Federer may be headed towards another electrifying match the biggest bout possibly of the whole tournament I'm looking forward to is 2009 champion (6) del Potro getting (1) Novak the 2011 United States Open winner during the quarterfinals.

Before we get ahead ourselves the top-seeded Serb must deal with Lithuanian Ricardas Berankis and then German Benjamin Becker or Czech Lukas Rusol before another perceived challenge from Bulgarian (25) Grigor Dimitrov.

Djokovic was stunned by Dimitrov in Madrid earlier this year 7-6(6) 6-7(8) 6-3. Novak rebounded though in Paris defeating Grigor 6-2 6-2 6-3 during the third round. The Serb should get through the first three rounds. However another Major rematch looms with German (12) Tommy Haas who went down at the All-England Club and French Open in straight sets.

Needless to say Haas will be gunning for payback. Tommy is 1-3 at the Grand Slams against Djokovic though just coming out on top in four frames at 2009 Wimbledon. Italian (16) Fabio Fognini and Frenchman (24) Benoit Paire are also in Novak's group. As for Haas his first hurdle is Frenchman Paul-Henri Mathieu.

Along with Tommy seeking redemption versus the Serb is Juan Martin (lost an amazing five-setter to Djokovic at the All-England Club) who opens with Spaniard Guillermo Garcia-Lopez.

Australian Lleyton Hewitt battles American comeback story Brian Baker in one of the more scintillating first-round scraps at the U.S. Open. The winner draws the Argentine.

Meanwhile the intense and experienced Russian (21) Mikhail Youzhny and Austrian (29) Jurgen Melzer as well as the tricky Frenchman Nicolas Mahut and Ukrainian Alexandr Dolgopolov are pitbulls ready to pounce on any uneasy prey.

Tyrone's Men's U.S. First-Round Upset: For the sake of fun I'll disregard Novak's section. To be honest not many upsets are jumping off the page for me. One that is possibly reaching a little bit is Czech Radek Stepanek against Swiss (9) Stanislas Wawrinka. Then again Stepanek is 5-0 versus Wawrinka, but all bouts were before 2010 with the last on hard court ending in a third-frame Stan retirement.

Considering the Swiss is 1-2 on hard court this summer and Radek is 4-3 entering one more tournament perhaps I'll be right again. I already took the Czech to shock Spaniard (15) Nicolas Almagro and (16) Fognini this summer so what's one more seed.

Tyrone's Men's U.S Open Quarterfinals Picks: (1) Novak Djokovic Vs. (6) Juan Martin del Potro, (3) Andy Murray Vs. Jeremy Chardy FRA, (10) Milos Raonic CAN Vs. (14) Jerzy Janowicz POL, (7) Roger Federer Vs. (13) John Isner USA

6 Juan Martin del Potro takes out 7 Roger Federer 5-7 6-3 6-4 2-6 6-4
