The Line: Milos Raonic See the Latest Odds
Kei Nishikori and Milos Raonic will clash on Tuesday in the fourth round of the 2014 Wimbledon.
Nishikori became the first Japanese player since Shuzo Matsuoka in 1995 to reach the fourth round of the Wimbledon. Nishikori won his first two matches in straight sets, but needed a five set match victory over Simone Bolelli to accomplish the feat. Nishikori has improved in Grand Slams recently, but he’s only reached the quarterfinals once and that came in the 2012 Australian Open. Nishikori has shown in the past that he’s well-conditioned, so rest shouldn’t be a big deal for him in this match. However, he must make some difficult shots to pull this one off.

Raonic has yet to lose a set in his first three matches, giving him a rest advantage heading into this match. However, Raonic did need two tiebreaks in his match against Lukasz Kubot. This is by far the furthest Raonic has ever reached in the Wimbledon, and he’s looking to reach the quarterfinals of a grand Slam for just the second time in his short career. Of course, long matches and short rest has never seemed to both Raonic, either, as he did play a 66 game match in three sets back in 2012 in London.
This is a match that all tennis fans should watch. A meeting between two of the top young stars in the sport. These two have met in the past just twice, and Nishikori won both. Their most recent meeting came in this year’s Madrid Masters, a match Nishikori won in two tiebreaks. This will be the first time they’ve met on grass.
You have to believe Raonic will be the favorite, but I like Nishikori to come out victorious once again. He has the insane shot making ability and seems to want it a little more than his opponents. There’s just something about Nishikori that makes you want to put your money on him.
Take Nishikori to win SU.
