Roger Federer and Milos Raonic meet Sunday at the 2014 Barclays World Tour Finals.

Despite being 33 years old, Roger Federer continues to surprise tennis fans and simply refuses to let father time catch up to him. Federer reached at least the semifinals in three of the four grand slams this season and has won the Cincinnati Masters, Shanghai Masters and Basel heading into this match. Federer looks healthy and is moving quite well given his age, as he still has the magic touch and is still getting to balls you wouldn’t expect. Roger Federer has won 17 of his last 18 matches, as his only loss was a straight set match against Milos Raonic in the Paris Masters. Of course, Federer is no stranger to this tournament, as he’s won the ATP World Tour Finals six times and has reached at least the finals in eight of the last 11 events. Even at his age, you’d be foolish to write Federer off with the way he’s been playing this season.

Roger Federer vs. Milos Raonic 2014 ATP World Tour Finals, Pick, Odds, Prediction

This will be the first time Milos Raonic has played in the ATP World Tour Finals, and he hopes he can put a positive ending to what has been a solid season. Raonic started to pick up his season with a quarterfinals appearance in the French Open and really started to begin tapping into his potential. Raonic has always had the ability to be one of the big names in tennis and at the age of 23 years old, he’s starting to turn the corner. Besides the grand slam success, Raonic reached the finals of the Paris Masters, finals of the Japan Open and won the Washington Open. Milos Raonic has won six of his last eight matches and can only hope he can play a little more consistent in this tournament. This is yet another event where Raonic can come one step closer to becoming a household name.

Roger Federer has won six of the first seven meetings over Milos Raonic, but Raonic won their most recent matchup at the Paris Masters. This will be the fourth time these two have played this season and all but their Wimbledon clash have taken place on hard court. The first three meetings between these two have gone the distance but the last four have been decided in straight sets.

While Milos Raonic deserves to be here and is clearly on the rise, he still struggles with consistency and can be up-and-down throughout big matches. Roger Federer knows what is at stake and knows he has to win quickly in order to save himself throughout the tournament. Give me Roger Federer for the painless victory.
