TV:

Stan Wawrinka and Novak Djokovic meet Sunday morning in the 2015 French Open Final.

Stan Wawrinka has dropped just two sets this tournament and is coming off a four-set victory over Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. Wawrinka has played 77 games in his last two matches and has played three tiebreaks overall. Wawrinka has won at least 70 percent of his first serve points and has hit 103 winners in his last two matches. Wawrinka has 19 aces in his last two matches and has gotten at least 52 percent of his first serves in play in four of his six matches. Wawrinka is moving well and hitting his winners like he usually does when in top form, making him a threat against anyone. However, Wawrinka has to limit his unforced errors if he’s going to win this match, as he’s had at least 42 in four of his last five matches. Wawrinka hopes to win his second grand slam title of his career.

USA TODAY Sports

Novak Djokovic has dropped two sets this tournament and is coming off a five-set victory over Andy Murray. Djokovic has played 30 or less games in five of his six matches and zero tiebreaks overall. Djokovic has won no less than 68 percent of his first serve points and has hit 101 winners in his last two matches. Djokovic has 11 aces in his last two matches and is getting at least 63 percent of his first serves in play. Djokovic has shown little to no weakness this tournament and has been the guy to beat from day one. However, Djokovic is coming off a match in which he had 48 unforced errors, and he also has short rest due to his match against Murray not finishing until Saturday. Djokovic hopes to win his ninth grand slam title of his career and first at the French Open.

These two have played each other 22 times, and Djokovic has won 19 of those meetings. Their most recent meeting took place at this year’s Australian Open, a match that was decided in five sets. Wawrinka’s only victories over Djokovic have come in the 2014 Australian Open and 2006 Umag and Vienna Open. This will be the seventh time these two have played each other on clay.

This line is a little disrespectful to Wawrinka, who has improved drastically at majors and has been much better against the top players in the world who have dominated him in the past. Simply due to the rest advantage, I’m going to take the seven free points with Wawrinka, especially after their five setter earlier this year. Also, I’ll sprinkle a little on the ML at +550.
