Sam Groth and Roger Federer meet Saturday in the third round of the 2015 Wimbledon.
Sam Groth is coming off a straight sets win over James Duckworth, which took just over two hours. Groth is getting at least 60 percent of his first serves in play and has won at least 74 percent of those points. Groth is winning 59 percent of his second serve points and has hit nine double faults. Groth has hit 40 aces, 99 winners and 50 unforced errors in his first two matches. Groth is doing a nice job of hitting his spots and has been hitting winners left and right in his first two matches. Groth must continue to start strong if he has a shot to pull off this upset. Groth has never reached the fourth round of a grand slam in his career. This is just his second time playing in the third round of a grand slam.

Roger Federer is fresh off a straight sets win over Sam Querrey, which lasted less than an hour and a half. Federer is getting at least 61 percent of his first serves in play and has won at least 79 percent of those points. Federer is winning at least 63 percent of his second serve points and has just two double faults. Federer has combined for 12 aces, 58 winners and 22 unforced errors in his first two matches. Federer is in great form right now and showing little to no weakness. Federer is also finishing matches quickly, playing a combined two and a half hours in his first two matches. Federer has been bounced in a grand slam in the third round or earlier twice since 2013. Federer has never lost in the third round of the Wimbledon.
This will be the second meeting between these two, as Federer beat Groth in straight sets in last year’s U.S. Open. Of course, this will be the first time these two meet on grass.
Groth will put up a fight with his strong serving game, as he won four games in all three sets in their only meeting just last year. However, Fed is in great form right now and is very tough to beat. However, I think Groth could steal a set early.
