Serena Williams and Victoria Azarenka meet in the quarterfinals of the 2015 Wimbledon.

Serena Williams is coming off a straight sets win over Venus Williams, which finished in just over an hour. Serena has dropped just one set this tournament and has played a little over three hours in her last three matches. Serena has won at least 71 percent of her first serve points and 41 percent of her second serve points. Serena has combined for 23 aces and 89 winners in her last two matches. Serena really bounced back in her fourth round match after really struggling in the third round against Heather Watson. Serena has had 13 or less unforced errors in two of her four matches. Serena hasn’t been eliminated in the quarterfinals of a grand slam since the 2013 Australian Open. Serena hasn’t been bounced in the quarterfinals of the Wimbledon since 2007.

Serena Williams vs. Victoria Azarenka 2015 Wimbledon Tennis Pick, Odds, Prediction

USA TODAY Sports

Victoria Azarenka is fresh off a straight sets win over Belinda Bencic, which finished in just over an hour. Azarenka has yet to drop a set and has played no more than an hour and a half a single match. Azarenka is winning at least 76 percent of her first serve points and 31 percent of her second serve points. Azarenka has combined for three aces and 56 winners in her last two matches. Azarenka must be sharper on her second serve, but this is easily the best she’s played since the injury. Of course, this match will prove if the real Azarenka is back. Azarenka hasn’t reached the semifinal of a grand slam since 2013. Azarenka has made the semifinal of the Wimbledon twice in her career.

These two have played 19 times in the past, and Serena has won 16 of those meetings. The last match was this year’s French Open, a match that went three sets. Serena has won four straight matches against Azarenka. This will be the fourth time these two play on grass, and Serena has won every match.

A healthy and dialed in Azarenka is a scary opponent for Serena. However, Serena already had her first scare, so I don’t expect a letdown here.
