Novak Djokovic and Marin Cilic meet Wednesday in the quarterfinals of the 2015 Wimbledon.
Novak Djokovic is coming off a five set match against Kevin Anderson, which ended Tuesday morning. Djokovic has dropped just two sets this tournament and two tiebreaks. Djokovic is winning at least 74 percent of his first serve points and 57 percent of his second serve points. Djokovic has combined for 28 aces and 81 winners in his last two matches. Djokovic’s only real hiccup came in his last match, but has been pretty much flawless before that match. The only concern I have with Djokovic is fatigue, as he’ll now play three straight days and is coming off a five set match. Djokovic looks to reach his sixth Wimbledon semifinal of his career. Djokovic also looks to reach his sixth straight grand slam semifinal.

Marin Cilic is coming off a four set win over Denis Kudla, which ended in less than three hours. Cilic has dropped five sets this tournament and played in five tiebreaks. Cilic has won at least 77 percent of his first serve points and 50 percent of his second serve points. Cilic has combined for 56 aces and 123 winners in his last two matches. Cilic continues to dominate his service game and has managed to dig out of scary situations multiple times. However, Cilic does have 75 unforced errors his last two matches. Cilic looks for his third semifinal appearance at a grand slam. This is also Cilic’s second straight quarterfinal appearance at the Wimbledon.
These two have met 12 times in the past, and Djokovic has won every meeting. The most recent match was at this year’s Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters, a math Djokovic won in straight sets. Cilic has won five sets in his career against Djokovic. This will be the second time these two meet on grass.
Due to the lack of rest Djokovic has and the way Cilic continues to serve, I see this match going quite long. Because of that, I’m siding with the over.
