USA TODAY Sports
Anett Kontaveit is coming off a three set win over Madison Brengle and has played eight sets this tournament. Kontaveit is winning at least 68 percent of her first serve points and 50 percent of her second serve points. Kontaveit has combined for 14 aces, 82 winners and 66 unforced errors in her first three matches. Kontaveit is really dominating in her service game and is winning a ton of points when she gets her first serve in play. Kontaveit is really growing up this tournament and is starting to turn some heads after her last match. This is easily the furthest Kontaveit has gone in a grand slam in her young career at 19 year’s old.
This will be the first time these two play each other.
Kontaveit’s power is going to challenge Venus and is enough to pull off an upset along with her shotmaking. However, Venus is starting to gain confidence and still has the crowd on her side. Kontaveit may be too young for the moment right now.
