Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer meet Sunday in the 2015 US Open Final.

Novak Djokovic is coming off a three set victory over Marin Cilic and has played 20 sets this tournament. Djokovic is winning at least 69 percent of his first serve points and 52 percent of his second serve points. Djokovic has combined for 20 aces, 94 winners and 67 unforced errors in his last three matches. Djokovic is easily coming off his best match yet in which he beat Cilic in a match that took just an hour and a half. Djokovic has combined for just 30 unforced errors in his last two matches and has just one double fault during that span as well. After a couple of shaky matches earlier, Djokovic looks sharp and ready to go for yet another grand slam final. Djokovic looks for his second career US Open title. Djokovic has lost in four of his last eight grand slam final appearances.

Roger Federer is coming off a straight sets win over Stan Wawrinka and has yet to drop a set this tournament. Federer is winning at least 72 percent of his first serve points and 47 percent of his second serve points. Federer has combined for 41 aces, 134 winners and 52 unforced errors in his last three matches. Once again, Federer is playing out of his mind right now, as he hasn’t dropped a set all tournament and has played just two tiebreaks. Federer has 25 or less unforced errors in five of his six matches and is getting no worse than 59 percent of his first serves in play. Federer has truly shown no weakness leading up to this match in the US Open. Federer looks for his sixth career US Open title and first grand slam crown since 2012. Federer has lost his last two grand slam final appearances.

Federer and Djokovic have played 41 times, and Fed has won 21 of those meetings. The most recent match was in this year’s Cincinnati Masters, a match Federer won in straight sets. However, Djokovic has won five of his last eight meetings against Federer. Four of the last six meetings have been decided in straight sets. This will be the 32nd time Federer and Djokovic meet on hard court.

I’ve said from the beginning that Federer was my pick to win the US Open. Federer has played some of his best tennis in years as of late, and he just made a top-10 player look like he didn’t even belong on the same court as him.

Federer will win his first grand slam title in three years.
