Andy Murray and Milos Raonic meet in the semifinal of the 2016 Australian Open.

Andy Murray is coming off a four set victory over David Ferrer and has lost two sets this tournament. Murray is getting at least 57 percent of his first serves in play and is winning no less than 73 percent of those points. Murray has racked up 92 winners in his last two matches and has had 22 or less unforced errors in three of his five matches. Murray has really dominated his first serve and is winning at least 57 percent of his second serve points in three of his five matches. However, Murray is coming off a match in which he had 64 unforced errors, which is more than round three and four combined. Murray has lost in the semifinal of a grand slam three times since 2014. Murray has made the final of the Australian Open four times since 2010.

Andy Murray vs. Milos Raonic 2016 Australian Open Semifinal Pick, Odds, Prediction

USA TODAY Sports

Milos Raonic is coming off a four set win over Gael Monfils and has dropped three sets this tournament. Raonic is getting at least 58 percent of his first serves in play and is winning no less than 79 percent of those points. Raonic has produced 129 winners in his last two matches and has 36 or less unforced errors in three of his five matches. Raonic is going to be extremely tough to beat if he continues to serve at an extremely high level. However, the concern with Raonic are the unforced errors, as he’s combined for 112 in his last three matches. Raonic’s only other grand slam semifinal appearance was in the 2014 Wimbledon. Raonic has never reached a grand slam final.

These two have played six times and the series is split down the middle. The most recent match was in last year’s Madrid Masters, a match Murray won in straight sets. Four of the six matches between Murray and Raonic have been decided in straight sets. This will be the fifth time Raonic and Murray play on hard court.

I give Raonic a better chance to win this match than most probably would, as he’s playing at a very high level and has added to his game with the ability to attack the net. However, Murray loves this tournament and is easier to trust in these moments.

I wouldn’t be surprised if there was an upset, but you have to side with Murray.
