Novak Djokovic and David Goffin meet Friday in the semifinal of the Miami Masters.
Novak Djokovic is coming off a straight sets win over Tomas Berdych that took just 18 games to be decided. Djokovic has yet to drop a set in nine straight matches and continues on what has been a historic last couple of years. Although Djokovic has been pushed at times, he continues to buckle down when needed and forces his opponent into the eventual mistake. Djokovic is simply in his own world right now, and it’s going to take an incredible performance to knock him off at this point in his current form. Has lost twice in the semifinals of the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 since 2014. Djokovic has won four of the last five Miami Masters.

David Goffin is coming off a lengthy three set victory over Gilles Simon. Goffin continues to play impressive tennis, as he’s won 10 of his last 11 singles matches and finds himself in the thick of the top-15 in the world. Goffin has had his breakout over the last year or so, and he’s proving that it’s certainly not a fluke. If Goffin can continue to hold serve and hit winners the way he has lately, he could possibly be a top-10 player later in the season. Goffin has just two career victories over top-10 players, which includes a win this year over Stan Wawrinka a couple of weeks ago. This is only Goffin’s second semifinal performance in a big tournament with the first being in this year's Indian Wells.
These two have met three times in the past, and Djokovic has won all three meetings. The most recent match was in the 2015 Cincinnati Masters, a match Novak won in three sets. Goffin has won just one set against Djokovic. This will be the third time these two meet on hard court.
While Goffin is certainly a player to keep an eye on moving forward, Djokovic is not losing this match. Sorry, there’s just no hope for the 25-year-old in this spot.
Djokovic moves to yet another final.
