TV:

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Marcos Baghdatis meet in the second round of the 2016 French Open.

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga is coming off a straight sets win over Jan-Lennard Struff that took 29 games to decide. In the victory, Tsonga won 74 percent of his first serve points and 60 percent of his second serve points. Tsonga pretty much cruised throughout the match and got a solid 64 percent of his first serves in play. When Tsonga is hitting his spots at a high percentage, he’s very tough to beat. Tsonga came into this tournament winning eight of his last 12 matches, and he always has an advantage given that he’s one of the French players capable of making a deep run. Tsonga has made at least the third round in his last eight grand slam appearances.

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga vs. Marcos Baghdatis 2016 French Open Pick, Odds, Prediction

USA TODAY Sports

Marcos Baghdatis is coming off a straight sets win over Gilles Muller that took 29 games to decide. In the victory, Baghdatis won 69 percent of his first serve points and 54 percent of his second serve points. Baghdatis lost just five games in his final two sets and finished the match with just 15 unforced errors. Baghdatis didn’t look like a player who came into this tournament on a three-match losing streak, and he’ll have a chance to make a run here if he’s able to get 65 percent of his first serves in play like he did in the first match. Baghdatis has failed to reach the third round in six of his last eight grand slam appearances. Baghdatis hasn’t made the third round of the French Open since 2010.

These two have met seven times in the past, and Tsonga has won six of those meetings. The most recent match was in this year's Australian Open, a match Tsonga won in straight sets. Baghdatis’ only win over Tsonga came in the 2004 Cordoba Challenger.

Tsonga does well in the French Open due to it being him home grand slam, and he looked more impressive in his opening round. Baghdatis could possibly get a set, but Tsonga should win this match rather easily.

Give me Tsonga in four sets.
