TV:

Dominic Thiem and Alexander Zverev square off in the third round of the 2016 French Open.

Dominic Thiem is coming off a straight sets win over Guillermo Garcia-Lopez that took 35 games to decide. In the victory, Thiem won 70 percent of his first serve points and 55 percent of his second serve points. Thiem continues to win matches rather easily despite racking up a combined 77 unforced errors in two matches. Thiem is also getting 51 or less percent of his first serves in play, numbers that have to improve as he gets deeper in this tournament. Still, Thiem is rolling with confidence after winning the NIce Open and has a shot to become a top-10 player for the first time. Thiem has made the fourth round of a grand slam once, which was the 2014 US Open.

Dominic Thiem vs. Alexander Zverev 2016 French Open Pick, Odds, Prediction

USA TODAY Sports

Alexander Zverev is coming off a four set win over Stephane Robert that took 33 games to decide. In the victory, Zverev won 78 percent of his first serve points and 46 percent of his second serve points. Zverev is starting to turn some heads, as the 19-year-old just handled two top-90 players with ease. Zverev has produced 66 winners and has won no less than 73 percent of his first serve points in his first two matches. These last several weeks feel like breakthrough moments for Zverev, and he has a chance to really shoot up the rankings if he can stay in this current form. Zverev has never made the fourth round of a grand slam, as this is just his fourth appearance.

These two have met twice in the past, and Thiem won both in three sets. The two matches took place in this year's Nice Open and Munich Open. This will be the third time these two play on clay court.

The history between these two could have gone either way, which includes a three set match last week for the Nice Open title. Zverev is clearly a young kid on the rise who is currently oozing with confidence. However, experience has to be factored in here, so Thiem does have the advantage.

Tons of unforced errors or not, Thiem is the smart pick to win this match.
