In the victory, Lopez won 83 percent of his first serve points and 50 percent of his second serve points. Lopez has been dominating his first serve points and has racked up 86 winners in his two matches. Lopez has 31 aces and 56 unforced errors this tournament. Feliciano Lopez vs. David Ferrer 2016 French Open Pick, Odds, Prediction

USA TODAY Sports

David Ferrer is coming off a four set win over Juan Monaco that took 40 games to decide. In the victory, Ferrer won 63 percent of his first serve points and 40 percent of his second serve points. Ferrer didn’t exactly play great tennis in the victory, as his serve percentage was shaky and he racked up an insane 57 unforced errors. Still, Ferrer has been able to avoid the marathon match up to this point and does have 55 combined winners. Ferrer doesn’t always win pretty and isn’t the most talented guy, but he always shows heart and is one of the more conditioned players in the tournament. Ferrer hopes to reach the fourth round of a grand slam in 10 of his last 14 appearances.

These two have played 15 times in the past, and Ferrer has won nine of those meetings. The most recent match was in the 2015 Malaysian Open, a match Ferrer won in straight sets. Ferrer has won the last six meetings against Lopez, and his last loss came in the 2009 Shanghai Masters. This will be the sixth time these two meet on clay court.

You can’t ignore Ferrer’s dominance over Lopez over the years, and he usually bounces back well after playing a sloppy game. Ferrer is capable of playing much better and he hasn’t killed himself getting to this point.

I like Ferrer to win this match in four sets and advance to the 4th round.
