Stan Wawrinka and Viktor Troicki square off in the fourth round of the 2016 French Open.
Stan Wawrinka is coming off a straight sets win over Jeremy Chardy that took 31 games to decide. In the victory, Wawrinka won 75 percent of his first serve points and 75 percent of his second serve points. Wawrinka has now won eight straight sets and continues to win an extremely high percentage of his first serve points. Wawrinka has racked up 98 winners in his last two matches and is coming off a match in which he had just 22 unforced errors. When Wawrinka is hitting his spots and not making silly mistakes, he can go toe-to-toe with anybody in this tournament. Wawrinka hopes to make the quarterfinals of a grand slam in seven of his last eight appearances. Wawrinka can make his third career quarterfinal of the French Open.

Viktor Troicki is coming off a straight sets win over Gilles Simon that took 26 games to decide. In the victory, Troicki won 80 percent of his first serve points and 45 percent of his second serve points. Troicki has won his last eight sets and just picked apart a top-20 player in the world. Troicki has won 71 percent or better of his first serve points in his last two matches and has 116 winners overall this tournament. Troicki has seven wins over top-10 players, which includes three last season. Troicki has a chance to advance to his first quarterfinal appearance of a grand slam.
These two have met four times in the past, and Wawrinka has won all the meetings, three of which were decided in straight sets. The most recent match was in the 2015 Paris Masters, a match Wawrinka won in 22 games. This will be the third time these two meet on clay.
You have to give credit for Troicki getting to this point, but beating Wawrinka in his current form isn’t an easy task. Wawrinka has cleaned up his game as of late and owns the head to head.
I’ll take Wawrinka in four sets.
